If you've ever seen a standard breakdown of "How to Write a Novel," you know it usually suggests one of two things:

Option A will tell you that you must dedicate one hour to writing every day. It will try to convince you that making time and sitting in front of a keyboard is all it takes to finish your book.

Option B will tell you that you must write a certain number of words every day. It will try to convince you that putting the right number of words onto the page or screen is all it takes to finish your book.

BOTH OPTIONS HAVE THE SAME FATAL FLAW!

I’m Maria! I’ve spent my entire adult life working with writers of all ages and have written and published everything from a blog article titled “Does Dr. Pepper have Laxatives in It?” to my romantic suspense novels, like my Taylor Industries series, that earn consistent royalties month-after-month.
